The idea for SoulCon began as a way for Rising Eagle to celebrate our first successful fundraising campaign as a team, but quickly grew into something much bigger. From the beginning we have always dreamed about the opportunity to create space for others and grow the indie comic community here in Chicago. So instead of just throwing a party for ourselves, we decided to create a place for others like us. In our first year, with less than 6 months of planning time, we were able to gather over 25 vendors and attract a crowd of over 250 attendees. It was nothing short of a success and we cannot wait to be even bigger and better next year!
